[BEGIN_OF_TEXT] Dundee completed their Premier Sports Cup group D campaign with a straightforward 4-0 home win against Clyde. A first half in which the Dark Blues struggled to find rhythm and were frequently held up by Dundee set-shifting game-plan, showed signs of a disjointed start for the Bully Wee on the evening. Minutes after the restart Dundee broke the deadlock as Alan Forrest found space in midfield before curling his finish past Clyde goalkeeper Jay Hogarth. Simon Murray then converted an early penalty from Joe Westley in a move that was interrupted by Clyde defenders who got in front, but the scorer successfully chipped both feet to the low corner. Three minutes after Forrest's goal Dundee took another one through Simon Murray, who scored from six yards inside the far post again. Both their efforts were well-taken as Forrest again tried and mistimed his shot a few minutes later, this time narrowly missing the mark and sending a cross behind him. At halftime Steven Pressley made two changes: Alan Forrest was replaced by Joe Westley (on at half time) in midfield, and Zan Besir also had to miss out after losing possession quickly during earlier parts of the game. The substitutes did play an important factor; Forrest soon afterwards opened up his account with a brilliant finish. Late in the second period Dundee closed their tally as Charlie Reilly was caught offside by Clyde defender Kyle Fleming, who managed only slightly over the goal line from the ball. Joe Westley's volley at the far post proved decisive for the home side and sent them into the 16th round of the Premier Sports Cup. Dundee won all three matches in group four, outscoring their opponents 7-0 whilst Clyde lost their final match to Ross County with a 3-0 defeat. Dundee remain seedless which they are hoping will be altered when they take on a more favourable opposition group side of the draw in the next round.
