Ross County Football Club has taken a significant step towards improving its relationship with the fanbase by launching an independent Fan Advisory Board (FAB). The board, chaired by Alasdair Macnab, will serve as a bridge between the club and its supporters, facilitating open and constructive communication. This initiative is seen as a unique approach in Scottish football, with only a few clubs having established such a board so far.
The Fan Advisory Board will operate as an independent entity, ensuring that the voices of the supporters are heard without any bias. Alasdair Macnab, the board's chairman, expressed his enthusiasm about the launch, stating, 'We welcome this exciting initiative by the Football Club, this being, as far as we can ascertain, only the second Fan Advisory Board to be set up in Scotland.'
Macnab highlighted the importance of the board's role in fostering a collaborative partnership based on mutual trust, honesty, and openness. 'Our key focus is ensuring our fanbase has opportunities to be heard, and the Club has opportunities to respond,' he said. The board plans to engage with the fanbase through regular surveys, meetings, and open sessions, ensuring that all voices are heard and valued.
Roy MacGregor, the chairman of Ross County FC, emphasized the importance of this initiative. 'During our review, we realised we need more open lines of communication with our supporters, who are, and always will be, the lifeblood of this Football Club,' he stated. MacGregor expressed gratitude to the supporters who are willing to engage in this process, saying, 'I’m thankful that we have a group of supporters, who feel such a strong connection to our Club, who are willing to liaise with our support and ourselves, allowing us to have ideas, opinions and opportunities shared in a controlled and constructive fashion.'
The club is optimistic about the future of this partnership, with MacGregor adding, 'There will be mutual openness throughout the partnership, and I think that will really bear fruit for everyone connected with Ross County FC.'
