Ross County delivered a commanding performance to defeat Clachnacuddin 5-1 in the Challenge Cup group stage on Tuesday night. The result extends the club's winning run to three matches across all competitions.
Dylan Smith opened the scoring after just eight minutes, finishing an assist from Josh Turner. Ryan Diack then took over after the break, netting twice in four minutes. His first came from an Adam Forrester pass in the 47th minute, and he added a penalty four minutes later.
Clachnacuddin pulled one back through T. Cooper on 57 minutes, but County's dominance was quickly restored. Alex MacLeod scored the fourth goal in the 65th minute, set up by Ryan Chin, before Jordan Reid completed the rout seven minutes from time.
The victory provides a confidence boost as County continue their strong start to the season. They currently sit top of League One with 19 points from seven games, having scored 22 goals. The focus now shifts back to the league, with a home fixture against Alloa Athletic next on the fixtures schedule on 3 October.
